Because the bike company has given you a fixed mileage in which you can see a little less or more. But today’s method will make a difference in the mileage of your bike and you will save money. So read this article carefully and try to understand what I am saying.
How to Improve Bike Mileage?
First of all you have to remember that our country is India and the condition of roads here is very bad. Even though you get good roads on the highway, but an ordinary person rarely rides a bike on the highway in his daily life.
We Indians buy a bike for our daily work, it may be that we are using our bike to go to office daily or it may be that we are using our bike to cover the nearby distance.
In such a situation, due to bad road conditions, the actual mileage of the bike decreases, and this does not get corrected even after many efforts. And the result is that a common man has to spend more. In such a situation, a method is needed to increase the mileage of the bike.
Many people adopt different types of Jantar Mantar methods due to which other parts of their bike get damaged, but there is no difference in mileage. Therefore, I have given some methods below to increase the mileage of your bike, please read them carefully.
1. Service Your bike time to time
In our country India, people want to get everything at very cheap rates. In such a situation, they do not even get their bike serviced on time, as a result of which some parts of the bike do not work properly.
Suppose your bike has not been serviced for a long time. While driving on rough roads, some nuts or parts in the internal parts of the bike have become loose.
In such a situation, those parts will not work properly and if they do, it will slow down the bike. When the bike runs slow, you will turn the accelerator more and your bike’s mileage will decrease.
Many times I have seen that the local bike service centers do not service the bike properly. However, they charge very less money, and this is the reason why people get their bike serviced in the local service center.
But recently I gave my Yamaha bike to a local garage for servicing. When I opened the air filter of my bike at home, there was a lot of dust in it. The garage guy just cleaned the bike from the top and gave it back.
Therefore, give your bike to a good service center, otherwise get the bike serviced in the showroom of the same company.
If you don’t want to go to the service center, you can repair your bike at home, and it will not cost you much. Buy some essential items like lubricant spray, grease etc. for lubricating the bike. With these, your bike will never need servicing.
2. Keep your bike parts up to date
Many times while riding a bike on the road, some of its parts become loose or worn out. Although the bike company has given you a warranty, but small parts like (Oil filter, spark plug, Carburetor, Chain, Wire) etc. get worn out very quickly.
You will feel that all the parts in your bike are in good condition but in reality, they are damaged, due to which the bike slows down.
To increase the mileage of the bike, it is very important that every part of it is in perfect condition. These are small expenses which any person can do and can save big expenses.
3. Use good tyres.
In the previous article I told you which are the best bike tyres. If your bike’s tyre is worn out or has been repaired many times then replace it quickly.
Tires play a very important role in the mileage of a bike. If the tires are not in good condition and are wearing out a lot on the road, then your bike’s mileage will be affected a lot.
Therefore, change the tyres on time, it is not necessary that you have to use only the tyres given by the company. There are many other good tyre companies which make good tyres for bikes and are also available at cheap rates.
I have also told about this in the previous article, if you want, you can read that article too, I have given the link below.

4. Do not overload the Bike
This happens very rarely in cities but I have seen in villages people thinking their bike is a tractor. Let me tell you a true incident.
My uncle has a Splendor plus bike and he uses that bike for household work. One day wheat was being harvested from the field and uncle was using the bike for that.
When it was evening, to finish the work quickly, uncle loaded a lot of wheat on that one bike. I was feeling that the bike would break down but I did not say anything.
Even after giving so much load, the bike was still running but it had slowed down a lot and was also emitting a lot of smoke. After covering some distance, the chain of the bike broke.
When the bike was taken to the garage for repairs, it was discovered that the bike’s engine was also damaged. In such a situation, not only was there a problem of mileage but the cost of the engine also increased.
Therefore, whenever you buy a bike, do check its loading capacity. This is written on every bike. Do not load more than required as this reduces the mileage of the bike.
5. Use good quality fuel
There are two types of petrol available in India: one is normal petrol and the other is premium petrol.
People mostly use normal petrol because it is cheaper. However, there is not much difference in the price of both petrols.
But I told you that in India everybody wants everything at the cheapest price, hence the most commonly used fuel is of normal category.
Although this will not make a difference very soon, it will slowly reduce the mileage of the bike. When you will come to know about it, then it will cost you a lot.
Therefore, you have to use premium quality fuel which will increase the mileage of the bike. With good fuel, the engine of the bike will also be good.
6. Drive safely
According to government rules, speed more than 40 is a sign of danger. But people do not follow this rule, although if we ride a bike at a speed of 40, then we will slow down a lot in our life but it is not necessary that you always ride the bike fast.
There is a way to ride every bike, some bikes are made for high-speed driving, but not every bike is like that, so you have to ride your bike a little within limits, for example you can take Bajaj pulsar bike.
The engine of this bike is made of aluminium, so whenever you ride this bike a little fast, its engine heats up. Although this does not cause any harm to the bike, but it burns more oil and reduces the mileage of the bike.
There are some young generation who do different crazy stunts with their bikes and some ride the bike as if it is not a bike but a rocket. Actually doing this consumes more fuel and as a result the mileage of your bike decreases.
I have also written an article on how to check the mileage of a bike. You can also read that article and know the actual mileage of your bike. I have given its link below.
